Lipo 360 in Miami, FL

PH-1 Miami offers Lipo 360 in Miami, FL, an advanced body contouring procedure that removes fat from all angles around the midsection to achieve a slimmer, more sculpted shape. Dr. Zach specializes in this surgery, using his artistic eye and technical skills to help patients achieve more aesthetically pleasing proportions. It is the first step on your journey to your best appearance.

What Is a Lipo 360?

Lipo 360 is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes fat from various areas to achieve a slimmer figure. It is called “360” because it involves liposuction all around the torso – on the abdomen, flanks or “love handles,” back, and around the sides and upper hips. Lipo 360 allows for the removal of stubborn fat deposits and body sculpting over the entire midsection, which makes it different from traditional liposuction procedures.

At PH-1 Miami, Dr. Zach often combines Lipo 360 with a Brazilian butt lift. This comprehensive approach transforms the midsection while transferring fat to augment the buttocks. Dr. Zach has thousands of hours of surgical experience in sculpting the waist, abdomen, flanks, and thighs. The gallery of before and afters of his real patients showcases his premier surgical skills and why he is sought out for his ability to achieve such natural results.

Preparation for the Surgical Procedure

Lab Testing

Patients undergo comprehensive lab testing 2-3 weeks before surgery to check kidney/liver function, blood cell counts, body mass index, clotting ability, and other metrics to ensure overall health for the procedure.

Exclude Certain Supplements and Medication

Detailed instructions are provided on which vitamins, medications, and substances to avoid in the weeks leading up to surgery, as they can increase the risk of bleeding or complications with anesthesia. These restricted items typically include blood thinners, anti-inflammatory drugs, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco, and others. Patients may be prescribed alternative medications if needed.

Cease Smoking

Smoking cessation at least 6 weeks before surgery is required, as this habit impairs blood circulation and healing from the procedure. Random testing may be done to confirm non-smoking status. Support programs and solutions will be offered if needed.

Follow the Instructions

We will provide detailed guidance on preparing the home for post-surgery recovery, such as arranging assistance from a friend or family member for transportation and short-term care. We will also recommend loose, comfortable clothing to wear after the operation.

Fasting Before Operation

Fasting (no food, liquids, and gum/mints) is required for 8-12 hours before the scheduled surgery start time. Only small sips of water may be taken with essential morning medications. An empty stomach is vital for anesthesia safety.

The Surgery

Anesthesia Administration

In order to keep you comfortable for the duration of the procedure, we’ll use an anesthetic. Liposuction normally requires very few, small incisions, so local anesthesia to numb those areas is usually more than enough. However, if something like general anesthesia or IV sedation is required, we can discuss that together.
Dr. Zach uses a surgical pen to map precise incision locations around the torso. Typically, 4-6 small incisions of less than 1 cm are made with a scalpel in strategic spots with excess fat deposits where the cannula tube will easily access the underlying lipid layer. Common incision sites are near the navel, armpit creases, bra line, and hip bones. Dr Zach is known for his ability to hide incision sites in natural skin folds.
Tumescent fluid containing saline, numbing medication, and epinephrine are infused below the skin of the treatment areas using special needles and tubing. This solution swells the fat cells (making it easier to remove them), anesthetizes the area to reduce surgical pain, and limits blood loss.
Blunt, hollow cannula tubes attached to a surgical vacuum device are inserted through the incision sites to break up fat deposits and suction them out. Dr. Zach uses small cannulas to precisely sculpt the body. Repeated, precise motions are used to break up and remove excess fat. Thus, unlike the traditional liposuction procedure, Lipo 360 is more efficient and effective at sculpting stubborn excess fat.
After the excess fat is removed, the small incisions are closed with absorbable sutures. This marks the end of the cosmetic surgery procedure.

Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian butt lift transfers the suctioned fat to increase and reshape the buttocks. It helps to create more fullness and projection of the buttocks while enhancing their appearance. Combining a butt lift with Lipo 360 makes it possible to simultaneously slim certain areas while enlarging the rear end.

Skin Tightening

Skin tightening may be added to deal with sagging skin after fat removal. Various surgical techniques, such as excision, and energy-based devices can be utilized to eliminate loose tissue. Tightening helps the skin to redrape smoothly over the newly contoured areas after liposuction.

Immediate Post-Operation Care

Transport to a Recovery Room

Once the main cosmetic procedures are complete, the still-unconscious patient is carefully transferred onto a gurney for transport to the recovery room for close monitoring as they wake up from general anesthesia.
In the rehabilitation room, trained nursing staff regularly check the patient’s pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, temperature, alertness, and other vitals. IV fluids continue to hydrate and medicate them.
As sensation returns, any pain is immediately treated with medications. The liposuction sites are checked for abnormal bleeding or fluid buildup, and the surgeon is notified if signs of hematoma or seroma are concerning. The patient’s blood circulation and movement/sensation in limbs are monitored.
Once the patient is awake and stable, they are given detailed self-care instructions, such as wound cleaning techniques, what to expect in the coming days, the compression garment fitting/wear schedule, and an approved activities list. Prescriptions are given for pain management medication, blood thinners, and antibiotics.
Before being safely discharged, the patient must meet some standard criteria, such as stable vital signs, managed pain levels, and minimal drainage from incisions. A family member or friend must be available to accompany them home.
A follow-up appointment a few days later with the surgeon is scheduled to change dressings, check progress, and address any concerns arising as the patient starts recovery.

Recovery After Lipo 360

The first 48-72 hours after discharge must be dedicated to rest and healing the surgical sites. Patients should have assistance from a caregiver during this period. Movement must be limited to essential trips to the bathroom or getting food/drinks. The compression garment will help to minimize swelling. It must be worn 24/7. You can remove it briefly to shower when Dr. Zach gives you the recommendation.

Discomfort, bruising, swelling, and numbness along the treated areas are common initially but improve each day. To keep you comfortable, oral pain medication and muscle relaxants will be prescribed for 1-2 weeks after the surgery. Antibiotics may also be given to prevent infection. Some fluid drainage from incisions is normal. You should seek prompt medical attention if excess bleeding or signs of infection occur.

Usually, 5-7 days after the operation, we allow patients to resume normal light activities. Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided for 3-4 weeks as the body continues healing internally. Swelling may worsen with sudden movements or standing for long periods. Therefore, rest breaks are encouraged.

Over the next several weeks, compression garments will help the skin to smoothly re-drape over the contoured areas. Follow-up visits will be essential to monitor progress and check for any irregularities. Discomfort gradually resolves, but numbness in treated areas may take several months to disappear. Most patients can resume their normal fitness routines by 6 weeks. Final results emerge over 3-6 months as the remaining swelling resolves.

Ideal Candidates for Lipo 360

Are in Good Health

Candidates should be in good overall health without acute medical conditions or issues that impair recovery. Comprehensive lab work will help to assess your situation and determine if it is appropriate for surgery.
Patients must have noticeable, diet/exercise-resistant fat deposits at 360 degrees around their midsection. Individuals with firm, elastic skin will benefit the most from the procedure.
The best results occur when patients are already close to their ideal mass. Dramatic weight fluctuations can compromise surgical results. Thus, it is crucial to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
This habit severely impairs blood circulation and healing, which can lead to surgical complications. Patients must commit to not smoking for at least 6 weeks before and after the operation for safety reasons.
Candidates should understand that Lipo 360 aims to refine, not overhaul, their figure. They will still need a healthy diet and regular exercise to maintain an optimal body contour. Additional surgical procedures may also be required to achieve the patient’s goals.
