What Is a Vaser Lipo?

Vaser lipo is a type of liposuction that uses the Vaser ultrasound machine to break up and liquefy excess fat so it can be removed more easily. This body contouring technique targets stubborn lipid deposits from the abdomen, thighs, hips, back, arms, neck, and other areas. Vaser technology makes it possible to remove fat more gently compared to traditional liposuction methods. It provides smoother results and helps reduce the risk of lumps and bumps. Vaser liposuction is also recommended for liposuction revision cases.

Tiny 2-4 mm incisions are made in the treatment areas to insert the Vaser probe. Their small size makes it possible to close them with a single stitch at the end.

Tumescent Solution

A saline solution containing epinephrine and lidocaine is injected into the lipid tissue. This swells the area (tumescence) to allow easier fat removal, constricts blood vessels, and provides localized numbing.

Ultrasound Energy: Vaser

The Vaser probe delivers ultrasound energy to break apart and loosen the fat cells. The fat is liquefied so it can be removed more easily. The probe is moved smoothly through the target areas to treat all tissue evenly.

A small suction cannula is inserted through the incisions to remove the remaining fat cells.

Incision Closure

The small insertion sites are closed with a single stitch at the end of the procedure.

Compression Garment

A tight compression garment is placed on the treated areas to minimize swelling and promote skin retraction.

The patient is put in a recovery position to ensure proper circulation and breathing as the anesthesia wears off. Vital signs are monitored closely.

Patients are observed for some time after surgery before being discharged to go home and rest. During the first week, arrangements should be made for a friend or family member to help with daily activities.

Recovery After Vaser Lipo

The recovery period after Vaser lipo generally lasts between 1 and 2 weeks. Patients can expect moderate swelling, bruising, and soreness around the treated areas during the first few days after surgery. Pain medication is prescribed to help manage discomfort. They should rest and avoid strenuous activity for at least 7 days. In addition, compression garments must be worn for 2-6 weeks after surgery to help reduce swelling and promote skin retraction.
Most patients can return to work within 3-7 days after Vaser liposuction, depending on their job duties and recovery process. By two weeks, swelling and bruising will subside enough for you to get back to normal daily activities. Moderate activity and light exercise can typically be resumed 14-28 days after surgery. More strenuous exercise and strength training should be avoided for 4-6 weeks after operation.
It takes 3-9 months for patients to see the final results. During this time, the remaining swelling decreases, allowing the skin to adjust and tighten over the new body contours. Follow-up appointments allow the surgeon to track healing and results over time.

Candidates for Vaser Lipo

Good Overall Health

Patients should be generally healthy to go through the Vaser lipo procedure. While those with diabetes or heart disease may still be eligible, it is better if they have no major health issues that could impair healing or increase surgical risks. Good circulation and immune system function help to ensure proper recovery.

Vaser lipo candidates should already be close to their ideal body weight. This technique was developed for targeted fat reduction in specific problem areas in relatively fit and healthy patients. It is not intended for significant weight loss. Being near your ideal mass is essential because you will have realistic expectations.

Vaser lipo works best on patients with localized unwanted fat deposits they want to reduce. This could include the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, or other areas with stubborn fat that does not respond to diet and exercise. This treatment aims to address these isolated problem spots in patients who are near their ideal weight.

Candidates should also have good skin elasticity to adapt to fat removal without sagging or laxity issues. Otherwise, they may need additional procedures to tighten skin after liposuction.

Patients must have realistic expectations about the level of fat reduction this treatment provides. It is not a weight loss solution or substitute for plastic surgery procedures.

Benefits of Vaser Lipo

More Precise Fat Removal

Using ultrasonic energy, Dr. Zach selectively targets fat cells while preserving nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. This allows the surgeon to sculpt different body areas with greater precision.

Because Vaser technology is more gentle on surrounding tissues, there is often less bruising, swelling, and discomfort after operation, unlike traditional liposuction methods. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days.

The controlled vibration of ultrasonic energy can stimulate and tighten loose skin. This means that this procedure may help to address skin laxity in treated areas without additional interventions.

Vaser lipo is usually performed under local anesthesia through small incisions and does not require hospitalization or a prolonged recovery. It is generally considered a less invasive procedure than other liposuction types.

Due to the advanced technology and conservative fat removal approach, this treatment is safe when performed by an experienced, board-certified surgeon, such as Dr. Zach. There are very low risks of issues like seromas, nerve damage, or asymmetry.

Cost of Vaser Lipo Miami

The cost of Vaser lipo in Miami, FL, ranges from $2,000 to $8,000 depending on the number and size of areas treated and other factors. Typically, the more fat that needs to be removed, the higher the price. Areas like the abdomen, flanks, back, and thighs generally have higher fees since large amounts of lipid tissue can be removed. Smaller zones, like the chin, arms, and knees, cost less.
Prices may also fluctuate based on the surgeon’s expertise and credentials. Board-certified professionals with years of specialty experience tend to charge more. However, their skills and knowledge help to achieve better contours and smoother results. They may also be able to treat more difficult areas.
